MISSION

• To apply new technologies to electron-beam microwave devices to improve efficiency, output power, maximize frequency, and achieve compact size.

• Regime of interest:

  • 50 watts to 1 megawatt of microwave power.

  • 3 to 100 GHz.

  • Relatively small device sizes: thimble sized to shoe box sized.

• Extensive computer simulation using Mission Research's SOS electromagnetic simulation software (three-dimensional particle-in-cell code) and other simulation packages.

• Experimental development and testing of proof-of-principle devices.
